Eric James Ostrem

Eric James Ostrem, age 59, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018.

He was born August 8, 1958, in Glendale, CA, a son of the late James Ostrem and Alice Hetland Ostrem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt Gloria Roberson, uncle Robin Schroeder, and father-in-law Joseph Masters.

Eric was an Avionics Technician for American Airlines and worked in the airline industry for over 35 years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and was very musically inclined, like his father. Born and raised in southern California, Eric enjoyed backpacking, hiking, and camping through the Sierra Nevadas including family trips with his wife and daughters to Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks, Emma Wood State Beach and Pismo Beach. Eric enjoyed working on cars and took great pride in his handmade, custom sandrail he built and drove through the Glamis Sand Dunes. He loved In-N-Out Burger, watching the Carolina Panthers, and Nascar.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter HollyAnne Ostrem and husband Kyle Gill of Lowell, NC, daughter Krystal Ostrem and grand-dog Sierra of Charlotte, NC, ex-spouse BonnieAnne Masters-Ostrem of Indian Land, SC, brother Kurt Ostrem and wife Kristy Ostrem of Scottsdale, AZ; nephew Joel Ostrem, niece Amanda Ostrem, and nephew Jonathan Ostrem of Scottsdale, AZ; aunt Kathleen Schroeder of Scottsdale, AZ; uncle John Roberson and wife Bobbie Roberson of Charlotte, NC, cousin Kari Roberson Howie and husband Jerry Howie of Goldsboro, NC, cousin Clay Roberson and wife Sandy Roberson of Greenville, SC; as well as his coworkers and friends he made through the years working at PSA, USAirways, and American Airlines.

A few weeks before his passing, Eric was blessed with the news of becoming a first time grandfather, scheduled to arrive in the fall of this year.

To honor his wishes, his family will be spreading his ashes over the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California.
