Erin Nicole Perrell

Erin Helms Perrell was born November 21, 1973 in Charlotte NC to Robby and Janice Helms. Most people who knew her throughout childhood knew her as "Nikki" but she chose Erin as her namesake during first grade. From a very early age family and friends would describe Erin as a free spirit who did things in her own timing.
She graduated from East Mecklenburg High School with the class of 1992 and from there pursued her artistic side working for Hickson Design of Charlotte. You can view the artwork designs she assisted with throughout Charlotte Douglas Airport. At the time of passing she worked at JFK construction as an administrative assistant.
Erin had many hobbies including watching NFL and Nascar. She was often seen sporting her Dallas cowboys hat, pink of course, or her Dale JR #8 hat. Anytime there was a race in town, she could be found at Charlotte Motor Speedway enjoying the day with friends. She had a passion for spending sunny weekends on the lake with friends and family or taking beach trips as often as possible.
She was an avid supporter and participant with The Make A Wish Foundation. One of her favorite stories to tell was when she dressed up as Cinderella and visited sick children at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte. However, her biggest accomplishment in life was her daughter. Her face always lit up and her eyes sparkled with pride at the mention of her name. If people were given one word to describe Erin it would most likely be humorous, as she had a very uncanny sense of humor and could make just about anybody laugh. Among other things, what will be missed most about her is her beautiful smile and infectious laughter. She left this worldly life peacefully at home to be with her Heavenly Father on July 25, 2018.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Hubert & Myrtle Moon of Charlotte NC and Reece & Pauline Helms of Indian Trail NC. Survivors include daughter Caitlyn Perrell (boyfriend David Balder) of Charlotte NC, parents Robby & Janice Helms of Fort Mill SC, sisters Tracy Haynes (husband Jay) of Concord NC, Amber McIlroy (husband Stewart) of Charlotte NC, brother Todd Helms (wife Sharon) of Jacksonville FL, nieces and nephews Kaycie McKibben (husband Harold), Ryan Burrell, Josh Burrell, Alexis McIlroy, Zachary McIlroy and Cobi Helms. Great nieces and nephews Isaiah, Luke, Ryleigh, Jonah and McKenna.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday August 4th. Visitation from 2 to 3pm and the Service will begin at 3pm. The family will hold a private graveside service immediately following.
