Ernest Fulghum

January 29, 1938 — April 16, 2013

Ernest Wilford Fulghum, 75, of Chester, SC passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Born in Franklin County, Ga, Mr. Fulghum was the son of the late R.C. and Anna Allewine Fulghum. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father of ten children. He was a member of Fort Lawn Baptist Church. He served in U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He always participated in Shriner functions to help children. He also helped raise money for Westminster School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Jackson; 3 brothers, Gene, Claude, and Melvin Fulghum. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Fulghum; 3 sons, Wade Fulghum of Concord, NC, John Fulghum of St. Pauls, NC, and Bobby Lucas of Fort Lawn, SC; 6 daughters, Linda Caskey of Charlotte, NC, Gail Rockholt of Chester, SC, Beth Arnold of McConnells, SC, Joy Morales of York, SC, Delilah McDowell of Greenwood, SC, and Linda Delorge of Greenwood, SC; a brother, Wayne Fulghum of FL; 4 sisters, Connie Roberson and Glenda Jordan, both of Lavonia, GA, Janice Adams of Dewy Rose, GA, and Emily Wright of Columbia, SC; 21 Grandchildren; and 3 Great-Grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Fulghum will be held 3pm Saturday, April 20, 2013 in the Chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home with Dr. Terry Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday, April 19, 2013 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or to Children's Attention Home, PO Box 2912, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
