Ernest T. Whitesell

Rock Hill - Mr. Ernest Thurmond Whitesell Jr., 91, of Neely Road, died Monday, December 30, 2013, at Agape Nursing Center

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Mount Holly United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Philadelphia United Methodist Church of Fort Mill.

Born in Fort Mill, Ernest is the son of the late Ernest Thurmond Whitesell Sr. and the late
Nan Erwin Whitesell. He was retired from the Rock Hill printing and Finishing Co. and a WW II Navy Veteran. He loved farming on the family farm and was a bee keeper as taught him by his father. He was a member of the Mt. Holly United Methodist Church and loved to tell his stories and jokes to everyone.

He is survived by his son, Ralph Whitesell; and two daughters, Kathy Starnes (Johnny) and Mary Turner (David); two sisters, Martha Brock and Juanita Bailey (Bill); five grandchildren, Crystal Sliva, Christopher Starnes, Matthew Starnes, James Ledbetter, and Katherine LeBosquet ; and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wifes, Katherine "Toodles" Gibson Whitesell, and Sybil Sullivan Whitesell.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Mount Holly Methodist Church.
