Ernest Cherrie Wright

May 26, 1962 — September 3, 2020

On September 3, 2020 Ernest Cherrie Wright, my kindest, sweetest, precious of a gem husband known to all as “Boo Boo/Big Worm”, fell asleep in death. He was born on May 26, 1962 in Washington D.C. to the late Ernest and Ophelia Wright.

Ernest received his education through the District of Columbia Public Schools. He worked very diligently for Hudson Supply Company loading and delivering sheetrock. He also gave the best of himself as he collected and disposed of Bio-Waste for James T. Warring. As a maintenance worker for Heartland Nursing Home, he took pride in the safety and well-being of the doctors, nurses and patients. He received much training in the field of Warehouse Management through Daycon Products Co., Inc., Distributing/Manufacturing of Cleaning and Maintenance Supplies and Equipment. He also joined the Logan Construction Company to further his talents in home restorations. He worked for Rock Hill-York Airport refueling airplanes, as well as PVC Conduit & Fittings for Queen City Plastics, Inc. Besides being a dedicated worker, he was loving, kind, generous to all he met. He was a devoted husband and father and an all-around family man. He learned much about Jehovah, the resurrection, and the promise of a Paradise Earth.

He leaves to mourn his wife, LaVerne Wright; his children: Ernest, David, Anthony, John, Louis, Latoya, Timeka, LaQuitta, Tyisha, Cassandra, and not to mention, Sha’Nia; his son-in-laws: Dave, Nick, Donta and Terrance; and his daughter-in-law, Jacqueline. He leaves to remember his memory, his amazing sister, Nancy High, his mother-in-law, Cleo Belt, brother-in-laws: William Chapman, Christopher Robinson, Ray Logan, Lloyd Rush, Michael Belt, his sister-in-laws: Carolyn Belt, Janet Stevens, Karen Logan, Beverly Robinson and Crystal Chapman; 18 Grandchildren , 2 great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends. Two very close friends he called his brothers from another mother: Matthew Rogge and Brian Beckham.

Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Louis Belt Sr. and his brother-in-laws, Louis Belt, Jr. and Michael High.
