Fort Mill – Mrs. Ethel Perry Funderburk, 102, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Rock Hill Post Acute Care.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2018, at the Fort Mill Church of God Chapel with Bishops R. Gerald Funderburk and Mark Leonhardt. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 pm up until time of service.
Mrs. Funderburk was a daughter of the late George Simpson and Myrtle Simpson Parks. She was the oldest member of the Fort Mill Church of God. She enjoyed singing with her husband, Robert and Pearl Bailes as the original church trio at the Fort Mill Church of God from the 1940’s – 1990’s. She retired in 1978 from the Springs Mill after 40 years of services.
Surviving are a daughter, Annette Brown of Rock Hill; a son, Gerald Funderburk and his wife, Joyce of Simpsonville, SC; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Funderburk; a grandson, Robby Funderburk; two brothers, Homer Parks and Paul Parks; and a sister, Raymell Bell.
The family would like to thank the Visitation Team from the Fort Mill Church of God for all the loving visits you provided. They would also like to thank the team at the Piedmont Medical Center, 4th Floor of the Women’s Center, the In-trim Hospice Care Team and the staff of the Rock Hill Post Acute Care Center. The family would like to give a very special thanks to Willow Owens for faithfully providing her with in home care.
