Evelyn Howe Costello

Ms. Evelyn "Lyn" Howe Costello passed away September 30th, 2016 at her home at Brightmore Independent Living of South Charlotte at the age of 95. She was born in Pulaski, TN on February 21, 1921, an only child of the late James Hollis Sneed and Anna Clark Sneed. She grew up in Decatur, AL. After graduating from high school, she attended Morgan Business College in Decatur and Mary Washington University in Fredicksburg, VA. Ms. Costello had two careers during her lifetime, first an interior decorator at Robb Stuckey in Fort Myers, FL. Later, she co-owned and operated an upscale dress shop, The Gold Carriage, located in the Edison Mall in Fort Myers.

Survivors include her son Steve Elkins and wife Kelly of Fort Myers, FL; two daughters; Susan "Sunny" Ingram and husband Tom of Charlotte, NC; Lois Adams and husband Tommy of Savannah, GA; and six grandchildren; David Yarborough, Mark Yarborough both of Fort Mill, SC; Melissa Elkins of Fort Myers, FL; Anthony Adams of Raleigh, NC; Amanda Norden, Josh Adams both of Savannah, GA. Ms. Costello is survived by three great grandchildren; Kaiden, Landon, and Anna; Additional grandchildren by marriage include Matt Ingram of Greensboro, NC; Jenn Wood of Charleston, SC; and great grandchildren; Davis, Henry, Cole, and Camden. Lastly, Ms. Costello is survived by her loving companion Don Chiofolo.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon October 4, 2016 at Unity Presbyterian Church, 303 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill, SC with Rev. Dr. R Daniel Holloway and Steve Green from Winston-Salem officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 - 1:45 with the memorial service to immediately follow.
