Evelyn C. Matthews

Evelyn C. Matthews, 94, of Rock Hill, SC died Wednesday, May 10, 2017. She was a member of Neely's Creek ARP Church and was preceded in death by her husband Lee R. Matthews, a son, Eddie Matthews, two sisters, Earlene Cochran, Carolyn Thomas , and a brother, Carlisle Carter, Jr, and three grandchildren, Craig Matthews, Darren Simpson, and Joey Cooper. She was an avid gardener and her family was the love of her life. She is survived by 5 daughters, Rosa Lee Langley, Peggy Polk (Joe), Marilyn Cooper, Linda Simpson (Jay), Kay Campbell; 2 sons, Gerald Matthews (Paula), "Butch" Matthews (Cindy); 3 sisters, Mary Ann Boyd (Roy), Irene Plyler (Ray), Martha Miller; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren also survive. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00am in the Neely's Creek ARP Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following in the family life center.
