Faye (Reed) Goodman

March 20, 1935 — April 13, 2019

Faye Reed Goodman, 84, of Rock Hill, S.C. passed away at home Saturday, April 13, 2019. She was born in Savannah, GA to the late John Herman Reed and Julia Artie Lariscy. She was a graduate of Savannah High School, class of 1955. She attended Savannah Technical School where she studied bookkeeping. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Southern Paper Board.

She met Artie, her husband, on a blind date. While dating, they enjoyed ballroom dancing. After marrying, she and Artie moved to Atlanta where she worked for Federal Reserve Bank. She was very active in the Women's Mission Union while living in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky and Chattanooga, Tennessee. She and her husband were actively involved with the youth groups at their church while both of their children were in the youth group programs. She enjoyed traveling with her husband thru the United States and Canada while serving on the Cook Crew for the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corp.

One of her greatest joys in life was the opportunity to be a part of the lives of her grandchildren and watch them mature into the strong Christian adults they are today. There was no animal in need that she would turn away. She loved college football starting with Clemson and then Virginia Tech. She also enjoyed watching Dale Earnhardt race around the track. Her husband instilled in her a love of watching golf on Sunday afternoons.

She was preceded in death by her infant son John Michael Goodman, husband John Artie Goodman and brother John Artie Reed. She is survived by her two daughters Julia Goodman Marshall (John), Kellie Anne Goodman East both of Rock Hill, S.C., three grandchildren - John Curtis Marshall IV (Katie Lynn), Julia Catherine Marshall, two dogs and three cats.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at Grandview Memorial Park on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 11:00 A.M with John Curtis Marshall IV officiating. The Family will receive friends at Mrs. Goodman's home on Monday, April 15th from 4pm - 7pm.
