Father Wiliam F. Pentis, 79, of 434 Charlotte Avenue, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011 at The Oratory. A native of Brookfield, IL, Fr. Pentis was born September 27, 1931 a son of the late Edward J. and Paula Koenig Pentis. He was baptized at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield September 27, 1931, attended Quigley Seminary in Chicago for six years and Our Lady of the Lake Major Seminary in Mundelein, IL for six years. Father Pentis attended Catholic University from 1961 to 1963 and was ordained Deacon February 14, 1966 and ordained Priest May 7, 1966. He joined the congregation of The Oratory of Saint Philip Neri in Rock Hill on July 22, 1959 at the age of 34. Surviving are two brothers Charles and Edward Pentis; also nieces and nephews. A viewing will be Thursday beginning at 5:00pm at St. Anne Catholic Church with a Vigil starting at 6:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:00am at St. Anne Catholic Church with burial to follow at Laurelwood Cemetery.
