Mrs. Frances Padgett Howington
, 94, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Thursday, March 8, 2018 surrounded by her loving children.
Frances, born in Forest City, NC was married for 48 yrs and was pre-deceased by her husband, Ira Floyd Howington. She is survived by her three sons, Del (Esther), Larry & Roger (Angela); 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; & 1 great, great-granddaughter. Frances was also pre-deceased by her daughter, Wanda Helms; her father, Jonah Padgett; mother, Mary Ann Elizabeth Padgett; as well as her sisters, Lillian Putman, Illa Padgett, Ruth Harmon; and brothers Baxter, Paul, Robert & William.
Frances worked for and retired with Springs Mills of Fort Mill after 48 years of service. She still recalled the days she would walk to & from work, then come home and make dinner for her family. She grew up in church, was a long-time member at First Baptist, Fort Mill, and a charter member at Cornerstone, Fort Mill, and knew that one day she would be with her Lord. She loved to watch Dr. Charles Stanley, the Gaither's "Precious Memories" and Dr. Roland Dry's "Songs of Inspiration".
The family will receive friends, March 13, 2018 from 12-1:30, prior to the funeral service at 2:00 pm. The service will be held at Whitesell Funeral Home, 975 Riverview Rd, Rock Hill, SC. The family will also receive friends afterwards at her home at 21 Rea Cir, Fort Mill.
The family would like to thank Johnette, Priscilla, Norma, Debra & Michelle with Hospice and Community Care, the wonderful nurses at the Wayne T. Patrick House and Debra Mayes, her personal care nurse, for all their help and care of their loved one.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that donations be made to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
