DUNCAN, SC-Frances Ruth Knox, 90, of Duncan, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015, at Magnolia Manor in Rock Hill. Born February 10, 1925, in Pacolet SC she was the daughter of the late Mary Greene Kirby and James Wilbur Kirby. Mrs. Knox was owner and operator of the Western Auto of Lyman with her husband for over 45 years and member of Lyman United Methodist Church. Survivors include her three daughters, Jane (Tommy) Hawkins of Fort Mill, Kay (Mark) Sims of Piedmont, and Lynn (Jerry) Gibson of Lyman; one sister, Florene Kirby Bryant of Pacolet SC, five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, JD Knox; and one great-grandson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Lyman United Methodist conducted by the Rev. Brian Gilmer, with eulogy by Mr. Shannon Gibson. An additional service will be held 3:30 PM Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Palmetto Funeral Home Fort Mill, SC. The family is at the home of her daughter, Lynn Gibson, 43 Groce Road, Lyman, SC 29365.
