Frances Matthews Queen, born on October 18, 1950, in Portsmouth, VA, went to Heaven in her sleep on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the age of 74 surrounded by her loving family.

Frances is survived by her sister, Cynthia Matthews Taylor (her husband Willie). She is survived by two children: Sherri Sutherland Bunch (her husband Mark) and Jack Sutherland, Jr (his wife Maria). She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Brittany Bunch, Jordan Bunch, Ethan Sutherland, and Landon Sutherland. She had one great grandson, Greyson Rosmini. Frances had a special gift for making each family member feel deeply loved and valued, creating rich, meaningful relationships that will forever be cherished. Frances was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Stephen Flack Fink; her parents; Francis Willard Matthews and Louise Clarke Matthews; and her brother William Francis Matthews.

Frances graduated from Queens University in Charlotte, NC. She was the founder and CEO of Queen Associates IT Consulting Company in the heart of the Queen city, Charlotte, North Carolina. Her achievements were celebrated through various awards and recognitions including Mecklenburg Times Woman of the Year and NAWBO Business Woman of the Year, reflecting her impact and excellence in all that she pursued. Associates, clients, and business partners all respected and valued the relationships she cultivated. Throughout her career, Frances was a fierce leadercrushing barriers and making a difference in the world. Frances was a huge advocate for justice and new beginnings. Within many non-profit organizations, Frances showed impactful dedication and instilled unmatched support to the most vulnerable without hesitation. She was a beacon of strength, grace and inspiration. Frances resided in Fort Mill, South Carolina, where she made a beautiful home with her late husband, Steve. She was a member of Transformation Church in Indian Land, SC, had an enthusiastic approach to everything in life, and had a positiveconnection with anyone who crossed paths with her. As a mother and grandmother, she wrapped her family in unconditional love. Her family was the most important thing in her life. “My family is my whole world” as she used to say. She exhibited positivity and radiance like no other. She lived a life that had many silver linings. When described by others, common words used are generous, resilient, inspirational and compassionate. She taught her family that quality time and fellowship were very important, but most prominently, her faith in Jesus was the root of all of her efforts.

A memorial service will be held at Palmetto Funeral Home February 9th at 3pm
