Francis Marion Aull Jr.

Francis Marion Aull Jr., age 70, of Fort Mill passed away on Tuesday afternoon, August 10, 2021 at his residence following a courageous cancer fight. He was surrounded by family the last 3 weeks of his life who dearly loved him.

Frank was born in Salisbury, NC on March 17, 1951, a son of Francis Marion Aull Sr(deceased) and Micky Aull(Baggett-deceased). Frank was loved and adored by all his children, grandchildren and by his wife Heidi. We know Frank is in the arms of his parents now and reunited with all of his dogs that he loved so much. We know he is finally at peace and out of pain.

Frank graduated from Boyden High School in Salisbury, NC and Limestone College with a Chemistry and Biology degree. Frank founded Aull Technology, Inc., running it for over 40 years in Fort Mill, SC. Frank loved chemistry and teaching anyone who was interested and sometimes those not as interested. He just loved sharing his passion of science. Frank knew he wanted to become a scientist after his parents took him to the Worlds Fair in New York in 1964(age 13). His love of Chemistry will live on forever through his creative formulas.

Frank will always be remembered for his laughter and his sense of humor to help his family through the worst of times. Frank was opinionated but always willing to forgive and ask for forgiveness. Frank has handed these qualities down to his children and grandchildren. Frank was a sharp-tongued character in his own right. As we process the gravity of his loss, much of our strength comes from his humor and spirited laughter that will live on forever.  Frank was a dreamer, never afraid to take a risk. His favorite song was “The Audition” at the end of his life. And he would want his obituary to end with a small piece of the lyrics;
Here's to the ones who dream,
Foolish as they may seem.
Here's to the hearts that ache.
Here's to the mess we make. He said, I would do it all again.

He is survived by his wife Heidi K Aull; two children, Francis M Aull lll and wife Maggie Aull, Phillip T Aull and wife Jennamarie Aull, Megan E Gattozzi(stepdaughter) and Mark A Gattozzi(stepson) and three grandchildren; Alexander Aull, Abigail Aull and Emerson Aull; and his sister, Elizabeth(Libby) Aull.

Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Human Society of York County.

Funeral arrangements under the direction of Palmetto Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fort Mill.

Family will be hosting a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday August 14, 2021. This will take place at Killingtons Restaurant  located in Baxter Town Center at 1:45pm.  Frank requested casual wear.
