Charlotte - Mr. Frank M. Cothran, 82, died November 21, 2016.
A native of Salisbury, NC, Frank was the son of the late Thomas W Cothran and Lola Minges Cothran Gray. He graduated from Boyden High School in Salisbury, NC and N.C. State University in Raleigh, NC with a Mechanical Engineering Degree.
Frank served in the U. S. Army for two years. His employment include Southern Railway in Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA, as a General Equipment Inspector; Travelers Insurance Company and Kemper Insurance Company as a Loss Control Inspector.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and was an active member of The Gideons International - Charlotte SW Camp.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; daughter, Tracy Cooley and her husband, Doug of Fort Mill, SC and daughter, Teri Crump and her husband, Randy of Fort Mill, SC; sister, Jo Ann Roueche of Chattanooga, TN; and brother, Tom Cothran and his wife, Anne of Chattanooga, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by three grandsons: Andrew Cooley, Michael Crump and David Crump all of Fort Mill, SC He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Gene Cothran and Steve Gray.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 11:00 am at Grace United Methodist Church, 737 Woodlawn Rd., Charlotte, NC 28209. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, Frank previously requested that "memorials could be made to The Gideons International. All funds buy Bibles to win all people to Christ - TO GOD BE THE GLORY."
