Frank Joseph King, 88, of Matthews, NC, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2017 at Brookdale Weddington Park. He was born February 1, 1930 in St. Paul, MN, son of the late Frank and Mary O'Leary King.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph King and sister, Mary Kay Stevens.
Frank proudly served his country in the US Army and served in the Tank Corps during the Korean War. Originally from MN and later Hilton Head, SC, the King family relocated to Matthews, NC in 1996. He was a former member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, an avid golfer and retired from 3M after 30 years of dedicated service.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Joan Kunze King; son, Patrick King (Tricia); daughter, Sharon King (Mike Cronin); 3 grandchildren, Patrick, Connor and Christopher; sister, Jane Kaju; and many other extended family members.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 AM, Friday, January 11, 2019 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill.
