Frank Michael Rubbo

The Eldest son of Antonio and Antionette Soprano Rubbo, Frank graduated from Samuel Gomphers HS in the Bronx in 1950. He attended the State University of NY in Farmingdale and entered the US Army in 1953. He was discharged as sergeant in 1955 and married Marie Marino Rubbo on January 7, 1956. He graduated from the Wynne School of Hair Styling in 1957 and owned C. Robert Hair Design on Westchester Avenue, White Plains for 40 years. They moved to Pleasantville, NY in 1961 where they lived for 32 years. He attended Holy Innocents Church where he sang in the church choir, was active in the Boy Scouts, was a member of Knights of Columbus and belonged to the Westchester Hair Guild.  In 1994 Frank retired and moved to Tega Cay, SC. He was active in St. Philip Neri Church and was the Sauce Man for the church's Italian Festival for many years. He volunteered at Mercy South Hospital in Pineville, participated in the Vintage Club in Tega Cay and worked with the Tega Cay Beautification Committee  as well. Gardening was a lifelong passion of his, and if you saw any of his homes over the years, you would have seen a profusion of flowers.  He especially enjoyed camellias, and was active in, and a former president of, the Camellia Society of Charlotte. Frank was an avid tennis player for many years, and played on several teams and especially enjoyed playing with friends and family. He is survived by his wife Marie Rubbo, who he loved and cherished through 64 years of marriage, 4 children: Michael Rubbo, Toni Clear, Denise Upham and Eric Rubbo; 7 grandchildren: Michael Rubbo, Lisa Sipe, Andrew Clear, Melissa Clear, Jessica Upham, CJ Upham and Allison Rubbo; 3 great grandchildren: Logan Rubbo, Adeline Sipe & Emilia Sipe. He is also survived by his youngest sister Jenny Campanaro.  He was a man who was happy to do anything for family and friends, and he will be missed mightily.

There will be a celebration of life after the Covid-19 lockdowns have passed when family and friends can come together.
