Franklin Mozon Haire

Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Franklin Mozon Haire (Zonnie), 85, of 1640 Yorkmont Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730, died January 5, 2024, at his home.

The family will receive friends at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Catawba Baptist Church and a funeral service will follow at Noon (12:00 pm) with Pastor Ron Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, SC, Mr. Franklin Haire was the son of Vernon and Jeddie Haire.  He was a long-time member of Catawba Baptist Church. In his younger years he enjoyed camping, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, fishing, and tinkering on cars. For 47 years he was a carpet installer and owned his own business, Carpet Carnival, in Rock Hill, SC for 21 of those years. Franklin had earned an Exceptional Craftsmanship award which he was very proud of. This award was the first of its kind in Washington, DC. He also installed carpet in the White House during the Lindon B. Johnson administration. He also installed the very carpet you are walking on in the sanctuary of Catawba Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mattie A. Haire; daughters, Rena L. Faile (Steve C. Faile) of Catawba, SC and Dawn M. Hinson (Chris Hinson) of Catawba, SC, sister, Annie Watts (Jimmy Watts) of Rock Hill; four grandsons, Stephen Faile (Alicia), Jacob Hinson, Adam Hinson (Maria), and Daniel Hinson; a granddaughter, Hannah Bleecker (Jon); five great grandchildren, Scarlett, Athena, Sophia, Logan and Luke; and great granddaughter, Lillian.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Chesney Haire, Jimmy Haire and Gene Haire; sisters, Lucille Mooney, Ollie Howell, Bertha Whittaker, Eva Smith, Connie Morehead, Cathrine Liles, and Betty Pace
