Franklin Dunlop Thompson, Jr. 71, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at CMC Pineville, NC. He was born in Wadesboro, NC on March 4, 1941 to the late Franklin D. and Mary Louise Thompson. Frank retired from Barclays American Bank where he served as Senior Vice President of Factoring. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Richard S. Thompson and David L. Thompson. Frank is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ginger; children; Franklin D. "Chip" Thompson, III and wife Dawn, of Gastonia, NC and Daniel O. Thompson of Ft. Mill, SC; brother Charles Thompson and wife Pat of Chapel Hill, NC and three grandchildren; Perrin Elisabeth Thompson, Franklin Loew Thompson and Dylan James Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 2955 Hwy. 160, Ft. Mill, SC 29708 with Rev. JoAnn Sizoo officiating. The family will receive friends following the service from 3:00pm to 4:00 pm at Four Seasons Clubhouse, 509 Turquoise Way, Ft. Mill, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4124 Clemson Blvd. Ste. L, Anderson, SC 29621 or Grace Presbyterian Church, PO Box 3454, Ft. Mill, SC 29708.
