Freddy S Rodriguez

March 24, 1959 — August 12, 2021

Rock Hill

Freddy was born in Dominican Republic on March 24, 1959. He came to the United States in 1984 and became a U. S. Citizen in 1997. Freddy lived in Rock Hill, SC, for over 10 years moved here from Brooklyn, NY in 2007, to give his wife Andrea Rodriguez and four daughters Dorka, Evelyn, Katherine and Ivette a better life. He suffered from diabetes and high blood pressure which put him in End Stage Renal Disease and had to start dialysis in 2008. On March 31, 2015 he received a Kidney Transplant and went back to working full time to provide for his family.

Every other day after work he would exercise in Cherry Park. On July 26, 2020; Dominican Republic Father’s Day he went to go walking as he always did after the transplant. Our life’s changed forever. He was hit by a car. After that day he was bed bound due to Traumatic Brain Injury. He was not able to move nor talk. The youngest of the daughters stayed at home as his caregiver full time, while his wife worked full time to keep bills paid. The other daughters would take care of him on weekends due to work. After a year of Freddy fighting going in and out of the hospitals. He passed away on August 12, 2021.
