Garry R. Jones

Garry Robert Jones, 64, was born on June 25, 1949, in LaPorte, Indiana to Janis (Grandorf) and Robert Jones. Garry passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2013. On September 25, 1993 in LaPorte, IN he married Sandra Kay McPherson who survives in Fort Mill, SC. He was preceded in death by his mother Janis and mother-in-law Shirley Barrier. Garry is survived by his children Christine (Jeff) Story, Tega Cay, SC; Gail (Paul) Phillips, LaPorte, IN; Brian (Kim) Jones, Montclova, OH and Jaime Jones of Plano, IL. Grandchildren Bailey, Nolan, Jakob, Piper, Timber, Zach, Avery and Kaylee. He is also survived by father, Robert, brothers Mike (Rondi) Jones and Jeff Jones all of LaPorte, IN; Mark (Cathy) Jones of Burlington, NC and sister Cindy (Rich) Bechinski of Michigan City, IN. Garry was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a former LaPorte City Policeman and County Sherrif's Detective. He currently owned Jones Delivery and was an independent contractor for Fed Ex Ground. He was a lifelong resident of LaPorte, IN until moving to Fort Mill, SC in 2002. A Celebration of Garry's Life and luncheon will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00 am at Baxter Village Community Center, 3187 Colonel Springs Way, Fort Mill, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association. The family is being served by Palmetto Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Mill, SC
