Gary Yarbrough , 67, of Rock Hill, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 27 at Oakland Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Jeff Hayes, Rev. Eddie Ramsey and Rev. Shannon Long. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Born in Whitmire, SC, son of the late Ralph Yarbrough and Virginia Seymore Yarbrough.
He graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Carolina and earned his Master’s Degree from Winthrop University. He taught at AO Jones in Fort Mill, became a school administrator Indian Land Middle School, opened his own private investigating company, AM Investigations and worked at Ocean Lakes Security.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Auten Yarbrough of Rock Hill; daughter, Amanda Yarbrough Dancy and husband, Ben of Greensboro, NC; son, Roger Adams and wife, Kelley of Rock Hill; two grandchildren, Thomas McIntosh and Piper Adams; sister, Becky Hinrichs and husband, John of Roanoke, VA; uncle, Herbert “Sam” Seymore of Ninety-Six, SC; nieces, Jenna Hinrichs and Vicki Herrington and husband, Rob; nephews, Jeremy Hinrichs and wife, Jess, Michael Auten and wife, Michelle, and Bill Auten; great-niece, Rebecca Auten; great-nephews, Collin Auten, Jacob Auten and Logan Herrington; a very special extended Ocean Lakes family; and grand-dog, Bella.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the loving, compassionate and supportive care they received from the entire staff of the Levine Cancer Institute and CMC Main Hospital in Charlotte.
