Gary Michael Zajovits passed away on February 29 at The Pearl at Fort Mill, SC under the care of Hospice. He is survived by his loving wife Pam, brothers Tony, Dave, Marty and his sister Elizabeth, brother-in-law Bruce (Sue) Kirkham. Nieces Samantha Manifor, Katie Zajovits, Sarah Zajovits, Mary Lynn (Bill) Gothard, Laura Kirkham Waggoner, Emily (Bruce) Edwards, Kristin (Todd) Elson, Barbara Bany Carpenter and nephew Jim (Tricia) Bany.
He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Ethel (Arde) Zajovits and his sister Barbara Ann Zajovits.
Gary was born August 11,1952 in Dayton, OH. He was a star baseball catcher and played in the Senior World Series as a 15 year old. He attended Chaminade High School in Dayton, OH where he played baseball (1970 Ohio State Champs) and football. He went on to play baseball at the University of Dayton. After college Gary played on Ted Mills’ H. H. Morgan baseball team that won many championships, including the 1984 National Amateur Title.
Gary travelled extensively while working for the company Psychrometrics including Australia, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Gary then owned his own company GMZ Services specializing in remodeling and renovations.
Gary’s greatest loves were his wife, family, friends and his dogs. An avid sports fan, he loved the Cleveland Browns, UD Flyers basketball, golf and tennis.
He was famous and notorious for performing the “Bulldog” whenever asked no matter the occasion to Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean.
Known for integrity, kindness and loyalty Gary will be missed by so many.
