Geneva Roberts Taylor

Geneva Roberts Taylor, 88, of Charleston, SC passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Born in Lancaster County July 20, 1925, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Henry and Ada Roberts. Most of her adult life she lived in Rock Hill, SC and was a long-time member of Oakland Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends and cherished time spent near Mt. Pisgah in the NC mountains. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Calvin E. Taylor (died June 1982); a son, Ronnie Taylor (died 1987); and a brother, Glenn Roberts (died 1987). She is survived by 2 sons, Larry Taylor of Charleston, SC and Stan Taylor of Houston, TX; a brother, Lorenza Roberts of Heath Springs, SC; 6 grandchildren, Scott and Matthew Taylor, both of Boston, Jeff and Lizz Taylor, both of Charleston, James Taylor of Norfolk, VA, and Whitney Taylor of Arlington, TX; and 5 great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Taylor will be held 11am Monday, December 30, 2013 in the chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Rd. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Oakland Baptist Church, 1067 Oakland Ave. Rock Hill, SC 29732.
