George Arthur Schumpert

George Arthur Schumpert , 69, of Rock Hill, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 25, 2017 at home. He was born February 2, 1948 in Newberry, SC, son of the late William Elisha and Janie Kinard Schumpert.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Johnson Schumpert and brother, Tony Ned Schumpert.
George proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Rock Hill Police Department as a Special Investigator after 22 years of dedicated service. George was an avid fisherman and a skilled woodworker.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Kelly Schumpert Foster and husband, Thomas Dwayne of Rock Hill; granddaughter, Haley Polk of Rock Hill; sister, Dorothy Schumpert Sanders and husband, Keith of Gastonia, NC; and many cousins.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Eastview Baptist Church Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Pastor Rick Martin with military honors rendered by the US Navy and Police Honors rendered by the Rock Hill Police Department.
