Georgieann Szalay Batley

Indian Land, SC – Mrs. Georgieann Szalay Batley, 83, died Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Wellmore of Tega Cay.

A native of Bethlehem, PA Mrs. Batley was a daughter of the late George Szalay and Ann Yakim Sazalay.  She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She worked as a meeting planner with an Internation Precious Metal Company and her job afforded her the opportunity to travel around the world.  She was a gracious tennis player and everyone who knew or played with her understood that she was competitive.  She enjoyed crafting with stained glass and pottery.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph Gaza Batley; son, Dr. Jason Batley and his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Morgan; a daughter, Nicole Carl and her husband, Kevin; four grandchildren, Morgan Batley, Miles Batley, Brenden Carl and his wife, Catherine, and Tyler Carl and his wife, Jackie; and three great-grandchildren.
