Geraldine Eadon Matheson

GERALDINE "DEAN" E. MATHESON was born August 17, 1921 to parents Sherod and Isabelle Eadon in Clinton, NC. She passed away peacefully February 12, 2018 at Harbor Chase Assisted Living and Memory Care of Rock Hill where she had resided.

Dean was the widow of Hubert (Gene) Matheson. She was a longtime resident of Fort Mill until 2005 upon moving to Rock Hill's Chandler Place. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church Fort Mill, retiree of Duke Power Co., and a volunteer of the York County American Red Cross. With the ARC, she devoted many, many hours to the American Red Cross hurricane reliefs and the Rock Hill facility doing office work. She also attended Winthrop College in her 60's and traveling to China to do her thesis on the Great Wall of China.

Most of all she loved her many friends, nieces, and nephews, never meeting a stranger and always had a hug and smile to share.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and caregivers of Harbor Chase.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Rock Hill Chapter of American Red Cross Hurricane Relief, or the Fort Mill Care Center.

A memorial service will be at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 501 Pine Street, Fort Mill, March 9th, at 1:00 p.m.
