Gertrude "Trudy" Simpson

Gertrude "Trudy" Hill Simpson, 73, of 1566 Mustang Drive, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Piedmont Medical Center. A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Simpson was born November 12, 1938 daughter of the late James Reuben and Mary Scott Hill. She was retired and was a member of Edgemoor A.R.P. church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Mills Bigham Simpson, Jr. and a brother James Neel Hill. Surviving are two daughters Robin Simpson Corn of Edgemoor, Tracy Simpson Channell and her husband Jerry of Rock Hill; two sons John Wesley Simpson of New Jersey, James Mills "Jay" Simpson of Greenville, SC; one sister Denise Hill Melton of Rock Hill; two brothers Scott Hill of Edgemoor , Rusty Hill of Rock Hill;; three grandchildren Ricky, Ryan and Rebekah Corn; one great granddaughter Elise Corn and a special great niece Cristyn Reynolds. A service to celebrate Mrs. Simpson's life will be held Saturday at 2:00pm at Edgemoor A.R. P. church with Dr. J. Allen Derrick officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the hour of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Edgemoor A.R.P. Church, 2135 Starnes Road Edgemoor, SC 29712.
