Gilbert Billy Blue

ROCK HILL - Gilbert Billy Larson Blue, 82, of 1480 Hopewell Road, died Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Catawba Ward. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday, at Whitesell Funeral Home.

Born in Rock Hill, Gilbert was the son of the late Guy and Eva George Blue. The family is truly thankful that they were taught by their Dad to live life to the fullest, spend as much quality time with your family and be sure to let them know that you love them. He taught them to give to others and you will be blessed. He also taught them it does not take money to be happy.

He truly loved working with wood, always making things for his kids and grand-kids and that gave him great joy at Christmas. He always had a joke to make people laugh. He also enjoyed sitting outside watching all the different birds eating in the yard. His best quality was making others happy. He will be truly missed and never replaced. He is our Hero.

He is survived by his wife, Libby Sharpe Blue; two sons, Chris Blue (Cathy) and Glenn Blue (Michelle); a daughter, Denise Gilbert (Steve); two sisters Jeannette Largo and Gail White; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Lesslie Blue; and two sisters, Sylvia Caudle and Toy Murray.
