Our family is deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Gladys (Glady) E. Prosise, 63, on March 4, 2021, of a brain aneurism at Atrium Health Pineville, NC.
Born May 13, 1957, in Sandy Spring, MD, she was the daughter of the late Carroll M. and Ida Belle (Wachter) Higgins. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Scott Prosise, her children Megan and Corey, and her brother Carroll Higgins. She was preceded in death by Mary Emmel, sister; David Higgins, brother; and William (Bill) Higgins, brother.
She graduated from Damascus High School in 1975, moved to Rhode Island where she graduated from cosmetology school as a Senior Cosmetologist and taught hair color. She returned to MD and worked as a salon manager for J.C. Penney. Following the birth of her first child, she worked from home to be with her children. She always volunteered at her children’s schools and became involved with their activities.
Glady was a spiritual person who loved the church, sang in church choirs, served in the Women’s Ministries, and was involved in Bible study groups. She enjoyed needle crafts, the outdoors, hiking and camping. Most of all, she was a devoted mother who loved organizing family gatherings and spending time with her children.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Fort Mill. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ken Terry officiating. Wearing masks and social distancing are respectfully requested.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice or First Baptist Church, 121 Monroe White Street, Fort Mill, SC 29715.
