Guadalupe Tanguma Dixon

Guadalupe (Lupe) Dixon, 86, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away surrounded by her daughters at home on April 15, 2025

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday April 26, 2025 at St Phillip Neri Catholic Church with Reverend John P Giuliani officiating. Internment will follow at the Church Columbarium.

Lupe was born January 11, 1939 in San Juan, Texas. She worked and retired from the WV Department of Welfare as Social Worker. After moving to Fort Mill, SC she worked as Church Secretary at Divine Saviour and Our Lady of Grace. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and cherished big family dinners where she would always make too much food.

Lupe was preceded in death by her parents Vicente and Dolores Tanguma, brothers Leonel Tanguma, Jose Tanguma (Judy) and sister Yolanda T Garza. She is survived by sisters Maria Kirsch (+Roger) , Emma Pompa (Pedro), Gilberto Tanguma (Lupita).

Survivors also include 3 daughters with Richard Dixon (deceased). Cheryl Blethen (+Joseph) of Indian Land, SC, Nanette Cabell (Charles) of Fort Mill, SC and Karla Jeffries of Hilltop, WV. Also grandchildren Joseph Blethen IV (Lisa), Jennifer Winton (James), Krista Jeffries, Aaron Jeffries, Adam Cabell (Emilee), Laura Brockway (Garrison), great grandchildren Addison and Ellie Blethen, Lenin Wooten, Theodore, Eloise, and Sophia Winton, Flynn and Violet Cabell and Rowan Brockway.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Epic Hospice nurses and staff, for their unwavering compassion and supportive care that was provided. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
