Harriet Jean Zimmermann

Our loving Mother, Harriet Jean Zimmermann, peacefully died in her sleep in the early hours of January 9, 2025. We take comfort that she has joined her beloved husband Thomas Zimmermann. At 99 years, she was a role model for living a vibrant life. We are blessed with many fond memories of time together and her love of family. Her intelligence and curiosity led her to extensive travel and becoming an accomplished artist. Music and dancing were her passion from ballroom dancing to country line dancing. Our Mom had many different careers as an executive secretary, accordion teacher, hospital medical secretary, office manager in a medical practice and finally tax preparer. We often called her Dr. Zimmermann facetiously, and many in the family had her do their taxes. She believed in life long learning, receiving her college degree when she was 60!

She is survived by her children: Diane (Bob), John (Constance), Beth (David), Michael (Christy), her grandchildren Chani, Chad, Holli (Justin) Julie (Steven), Brian (April), Melanie (Jonathan), Kimberly, Kaitlyn, Sarah (David), and many great-grandchildren, as well as her faithful dog Misty.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church, Fort Mill February 8th at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donation be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, which blessed our Mom with the faith community and ministry.
