Harrison Stanley Johnson Jr.

Harrison Stanley Johnson, Jr., 65, of Rock Hill, SC passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013. Born in Bridgeport, CT, Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Mattie and Harrison S. Johnson, Sr. He was a loving husband and father. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years, during which he received numerous awards and achievements. Mr. Johnson also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart award. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Johnson, and a sister, Pattie Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Karen Johnson; 4 sons, William Fewell of Hartford, CT, Alarick Whitted (Katie) of Monroe, NC, Lavar Whitted (Dottie) of Columbia, SC, and Corey Fewell of Rock Hill, SC; 2 daughters, Lezlie Lloyd Stevenson (Demetrius) of Rock Hill, SC and Shameka Johnson of Bridgeport, CT; 2 brothers, Louis and Neil Johnson, both of Stratford, CT; a sister, Denise Johnson of New Haven, CT; 14 grandchildren, Serenity, Aliciana, Armonie, Kaylin, Monique, Darius, Denzel, Metrius, Machi, Brandon, Andrew, Muffin, Centrelle, and Jermaine. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Johnson will be held 9:15am Friday, July 19, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at 1pm at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society (Pancreatic) P.O.
