Harvey Andrew Bailey

Harvey Andrew Bailey, Age 71 of Fort Mill passed away on June 18, 2013. Born on August 8, 1941 in Wilson, N.C., he grew up in Portsmouth, VA. Graduating from Churchland High School, he joined the U.S. Army where he served as a dental technician. After retiring from a wonderful Army career, he worked for Howmedica (a division of Pfizer Pharmaceutical) teaching product and equipment use in the dental field. Following that career, he joined Volunteer of America where he ran the Housing Divisions Fundraising Programs. After retirement from the VOA, he continued working in real estate until the time of his passing. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a man who loved to live every day like there was no tomorrow. His love and laughter will be forever missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, William P. Bailey and his mother, Mary Ellen Hayes, his brother, William A. Bailey and sister, Mary Lou Kidd. Harvey leaves behind his wife of almost 41 years, Betty Jo Bailey, who together, shared an incredible life. In addition, he left behind two daughters, Colleen Davis and Lori Newsome and son Michael Bailey; along with 7 grandchildren. Also, he leaves behind two brothers, Robert Hayes Bailey and James Edward Bailey and four nieces and four nephews. Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dan Hollaway officiating. Immediately following the service, the family will be receiving guests for a light social hour at the Four Seasons @ Gold Hill Clubhouse. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
