Heinz Werner Blessing

Mr. Heinz W. Blessing, age 92, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 in his wife Edith's arms at home in Tega Cay, SC. Born in Felbach, Germany, he was the only son of the late Julius and Emily Blessing.

Survivors include his wife and three sons: Martin Blessing and his wife Michele of Fort Wayne, IN; Rainer Blessing and his wife Tammy of Tega Cay, SC and Ralph Blessing and his wife Beth of Downers Grove, IL. Heinz has 6 beloved grandchildren - Jonathan, Sarah, Brian, Paul, Scott and Mark.

Formerly residing in Levittown, PA, Heinz was a research chemist at Rohm and Haas and ended his career as manufacturing director for Zimmer, Inc. in Warsaw, IN. He loved travel, his family, the home they built, and his church.

Memorial services will be held Thursday evening, March 15 at 7 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, Charlotte, NC with Rev. Steven Newberg officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

There will also be an interment service on Sunday, March 18 at the Concordia Gardens Cemetery in Ft. Wayne, IN at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Spira officiating. A reception will follow at Don Hall's Guesthouse.

Memorials can be sent to Ascension Lutheran Church Soup Kitchen, 1225 E Morehead St, Charlotte, NC 28204, where he and Edith volunteered well into their late 80's.
