Helen Matchunis

Helen Matchunis, 80, of 4877 Old Charlotte Highway, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 1010 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Richmond, VA, Mrs. Matchunis was born April 3, 1930 a daughter of the Andrew Friar and the late Virginia Stanley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Constantine "Gus" Matchunis. Surviving are her three sons Scott Matchunis of Coral Springs, FL, Tim Matchunis of Raleigh, NC, and Thomas "Gus" Matchunis of Tega Cay, SC; a sister Joyce Treibley of Richmond, VA and seven grandchildren. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lake Wylie Rescue Squad.
