Helen Elizabeth "Libby" (Hildreth) Ransom, 81, of Rock Hill, SC died from heart failure on December 27, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, NC.
She was born on April 30, 1937 in Chester, SC, daughter of the late Pearl (Vincent) Hildreth and Buck Hildreth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Laverne (Hildreth) Dove and nephew, Lynn Dove.
She graduated from Chester High School. On December 5, 1970, she was married in Chester to the love of her life, Roy "Lionel" Ransom. Libby retired from Springs Mill Industries after a 40+ year career working in the Human Resources area.
She loved sports, was an avid golfer, and once carded a rare double-eagle at Pinetuck Country Club.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Roy "Lionel" Ransom; brother-in-law, Neely Wylie; nephew, Scott Dove and wife, Helen; sister-in-law, Lynneve (Ransom) Ramsey and husband, Bill; and nephews, William Glenn "Skip" Ramsey, Jr. and Lionel Craig Ramsey and wife, Mary Barrett (Beck) Ramsey and their 4 children: Lionel Craig Ramsey Jr, James Brogan Ramsey, John Patrick Ramsey and Barrett
The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home in Rock Hill. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Libby's memory to: First Baptist Church, Building Fund, 481 Hood Center Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
