Henry Craig "Phil" Belk, Jr.

Mr. Henry C. "Phil" Belk, Jr., 83, passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 in Rock Hill, SC. A native of Van Wyck, SC Mr. Belk was born on May 17, 1927 a son of the late Henry C. Belk, Sr. and Kathleen Bates Belk. Mr. Belk was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, and he was retired from CSX Railroad after 34 years of service. He was also a lifelong member of Van Wyck Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents Mr. Belk was preceded in death by a sister Mrs. Mary Mack Long of Chapel Hill, NC. Surviving are his wife Wilma of the home; a son Phillip "Craig" Belk and his wife Paula of Rock Hill, SC; a brother Ralph William Belk, Sr. and his wife Nettie of Matthews, NC; two grandchildren Kristen Kathleen Belk and James Joseph Belk of Rock Hill, SC; and many loving nieces, nephews and special friends. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Belk will be held Sunday at 2:30pm in Van Wyck Presbyterian Church with Rev. Randy McSpadden officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until the hour of service in the church. Interment will follow the service in Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.
