Henry P Terry, Sr

Rock Hill- Henry Princeton Terry, Sr., 78, died Sunday, February 19, at his home.

Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at Whitesell Funeral Home with Andy Rollins officiating. The family will receive friends 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

A native of Lancaster, SC, Mr. Terry was a son of the late John Alvie Terry and Lillie Howard Terry. He was a pastor from 1974 - 2017 (43 years). In 1974 he was the founding pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Lancaster, SC. In the early 1980's he was the founding pastor of Solid Rock Baptist in Rock Hill SC and the church later relocated to its current location in Fort Mill, SC. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a special friend to all. He was a man who loved to read his Bible and most of his adult life served as a bi-vocational pastor. He worked for the Bleachery in Rock Hill for 50 years and was the last employee working when the plant finally closed. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, swinging on the porch, his coffee and playing softball. He loved spending time with his family and watching his kids prosper. He also enjoyed traveling to the mountains.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy June Henry Terry; one son, Henry P. "Hank" Terry, Jr. (Misty) of Rock Hill; three daughters, Tanya Hepburn (Kirk) of Jefferson, Kimberly Terry Sparks (Steve) of Ashboro, NC, and Crystal "Nicole" Kutujian (Bruce) of Waxhaw, NC; his sister, Ruthie Lee Taylor (Mike), 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their appreciation and love to Barb and the team of Hospice Care of South Carolina.
