Homer L. Duncan, 93, of Fort Mill,SC, passed away peacefully February 7 2024 at home. Born October 30, 1930 in Sylva NC, son of Walter L. & Christine (Hoyle) Duncan.
Homer served in the US Army as a member of the Armored Infantry stationed in 1950's Germany. He retired in 1993 after 35yrs of service as an air compressor mechanic with Patton's Inc, Charlotte. Homer was truly a "jack of all trades". He loved working with his hands whether building something, repairing something, or working in the yard. He was a world traveler, avid golfer; enjoyed music, dancing, reading & playing spider solitaire. His greatest joys were being a husband, daddy & pappaw. He loved Carolyn beyond all compare.
Survivors include his daughter Vicki McManus and husband Dean, step-son David Ayers and wife Mavis; grandchildren Jennifer Lund & husband Brandon, Chase McManus, Makayla Ayers and great grandsons Ryan & Cameron Lund; sisters Ethel Autry, Evelyn Frady, Edna Neil & husband Don, Hilda Crook, brother Wade Duncan and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn, brothers Bill & David and his parents.
Funeral service 2pm Saturday February 17, 2024 at Palmetto Funeral Group, Fort Mill,SC. Visitation 1pm until time of service at the funeral home.
