Hugh "Mustang" Mauldin, 69, born May 29, 1944 passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014. A native of Rock Hill, SC, Hugh was the son of the late Hugh and Mildred Mauldin. He graduated from Rock Hill High School where he was a 4 sport letterman, and Clemson University where he distinguished himself on the football field as an All-American football player. He then played two seasons of pro ball. He was inducted into the York County Sports Hall of Fame. Hugh retired from Solvay Pharmaceuticals selling veterinarian drugs. In later years he owned and operated Harmony Hills Nursery in Fort Lawn until ill health forced him to retire again. Hugh then spent his time doing what he enjoyed most, working in his yard and spending time with his wife. He is survived by his wife, Clydeanne of Fort Lawn, SC; 3 children, Tim Mauldin and Amy Hutchinson of Marietta, Ga., Jeff Mauldin of Orlando, Fl; 6 grandchildren, Cory, Kyle and Caleb Mauldin, Luke, Adam, and Jared Hutchinson, all of Marietta, Ga.; 3 sisters, Ellen Donahue of Lesslie, SC, Eva Blakely of Rock Hill, SC, and Lucille Wilson of Hahira, Ga; a brother, Claude Mauldin of Fort Lawn, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
