Irene T. Parent

Irene T Parent, 85 of Barefoot Bay FL, died suddenly October 13, 2013 at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Parent was born on March 5, 1928 in Lewiston Maine, the daughter of the late Georgiana (Lemieux) & Napoleon Bilodeau. In 1953, Mrs. Parent and her husband, Bertrand moved to Wallingford, CT where she became a longtime resident. In addition to raising her five children she was employed at Unimax Switch for a few years and at Sears from which she retired after 15 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. In 1993, Mrs. Parent and her husband, moved to Barefoot Bay, FL, realizing her long-time dream. There she became a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church. They enjoyed many years of retirement returning to New England for the summer months spent at their cottage in the Berkshires and visiting family. After losing her husband of 51 years in 2002, she continued to enjoy traveling to her children's homes for visits. She frequently stayed with her daughter Diane in Fort Mill, SC. There she attended St. Philip Neri Catholic Church where she periodically attended the Wise Owl Club. Mrs. Parent is survived by daughters: Nina Bubaris & husband Jim of Wallingford CT, Diane Parent (fraternal twin) & husband Jody of Fort Mill, SC; sons Raymond Parent & wife Cynthia of Darlington, SC, Patrick Parent & wife Manas of Brandon, FL, and David Parent (fraternal twin) and wife Cynthia of Wallingford, CT; granddaughters: Melissa Barnes, Amber Boyle, Courtney Parent, and step granddaughter Alexandra Bubaris; grandsons Bertrand Parent, Joshua Boyle, Tyler Parent and step grandsons Trent & Garrett Picton, and Nicholas Bubaris; great granddaughters Isabella & Kaya-Mae; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Frank Barnes and 16 brothers and sisters.
