Irene Turner

Irene Clinton Turner, 84, of 2493 Clinton Road, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at her residence. A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Turner was born January 19, 1925 a daughter of the late William Bryan and Alma Mackey Clinton Ratteree. She was a retired cashier from Walmart after 23 years of service. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband Carl Bratton Turner, Jr. and two sons Lindsay Clinton Turner and Carl Bratton Turner, III. Surviving are four children Mac Turner and wife Sandra of Catawba, Elaine Turner Beard and husband Wimpy of Edgemoor, Edie Dille and husband John of Rock Hill, John Turner and wife Shannon of Edgemoor; a sister Barbara Clinton Baco of Spartanburg; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Turner will be held Thursday at 3:00pm at Edgemoor A.R.P. church with Reverend Allen Derrick officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 Thursday at the church prior to the service.
