Mr. Jack Neely Griffin, 82 passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, at home surrounded by his loving spouse and family. Mr. Griffin was born in Indian Land, SC a son of the late William Onslow and Olive Mae Pettus Griffin.
Mr. Griffin was a lifetime member of the Belair United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Indian Land Booster Club, and American Legion Post 31 in Lancaster, SC. He was also a member of the Lewis Fellowship Sunday School Class at Belair United Methodist Church where he was also a choir member. He was an avid Gamecock and Nascar fan. He was a big supporter of sports in Indian Land and Fort Mill. Mr. Griffin was an Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Griffin leaves behind his loving wife Sara M. Griffin of Indian Land, SC; a son Keith Griffin and his wife Judi of Fort Mill, SC; two daughters Beverly Griffin of Indian Land, SC and Karen Patterson and her husband Tommy of Indian Land, SC. He is also survived by a brother Wayne Griffin of Mount Holly, NC; and a sister Betty Jo Broome of Fort Mill, SC. He is survived by seven grandchildren: Jessica Buwolda, Natalie Earnhardt, Whitney Patterson, Jad Griffin, Josh Earnhardt, Jordan Griffin, and Abbi Griffin, and 8 great-greatchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson Jacob Earnhardt, four sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at 11 O'Clock in the morning at the Belair United Methodist Church with Reverend Tony Adams and Reverend Barry Yates presiding over the service. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church beginning at 9:30 AM until service time. Interment will follow the service at the Belair United Methodist Church Cemetery with Military Honors by the United States Air Force. Pallbearers will be Josh Earnhardt, Jad Griffin, Jordan Griffin, Carl Griffin, Larry Catledge, and Keal Buwolda.
