Jacqueline Marie O'Donnell

Jacqueline (Jackie) O'Donnell, age 81, affectionately referred to by her family as Queenie, died on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Pineville Hospital after several years of declining health.

Jackie was born on March 10, 1936 in Buffalo, New York to Henry and Dorothy (Wood) Anthony, and baptized on March 21, 1936 at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Buffalo.

Jackie graduated from Potsdam State Teachers College in 1957, and taught school from 1958 until 1963 at Devon Elementary School in Devon Pennsylvania.

She married James Patrick O'Donnell of Philadelphia Pennsylvania on April 9, 1960. They were blessed with four children - James Anthony, Holly Marie, Thomas Henry, and Erin Marie. Jackie and Jim lived in Wayne, Pennsylvania; Malvern, Pennsylvania; Macungie, Pennsylvania; Geneva, Illinois; Ellicott City, Maryland; Kohler, Wisconsin; and Charlotte, North Carolina. They were blessed with many good and supportive friends everywhere they lived.

Jackie is survived by her husband, her children, their spouses (Christina Matthews, James Olson, Jill Peterson, and Andrew McCullen), 13 grandchildren (Samuel, Anna, Ben and Callie O'Donnell; Tyler, Gavin, Colin and Ryce Olson; Henry and Isabel O'Donnell; and Andrew, Jack and Evan McCullen), her first cousin Diana (Dorst) Brock, her nephew Michael Anthony, her niece Karen (Anthony) Brooks and many other nieces and nephews.

Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, William Anthony, and 2 grandchildren, Shane and Grace Olson.

Jackie devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. Family and friends were also constantly in her thoughts. She accepted and took charge of her situation on the evening before she died and, with her children by her side, called all her grandchildren, some family and friends to say goodbye. She also directed her children that after her death they call others to tell them how much they meant to her.

Services will be held at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, South Carolina, 29708, starting at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 3rd.
