Mr. James Lee Adams, 74, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2011 at home. Born in Rock Hill on July 28, 1936, James was the son of the late Paul Aaron Adams and Viola C. Adams Hamiter. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Holroyd Adams of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Christi and Duane Farmer of Myrtle Beach; sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and William Keith Walters, Jr. of Rock Hill; several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendi Renée Adams. James graduated from Rock Hill High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the University of South Carolina at Lancaster. He also served in the United States Air Force. He was retired from Stanley Door Systems, a division of The Stanley Works, where he was named National Territory Manager in 1988. He was also an active member of Neely's Creek ARP Church. He enjoyed acting in plays and building the sets for the plays and was a past president of the Rock Hill Little Theatre. He loved working in the yard, riding his lawnmower and spending time with his family and friends. He was the best husband and father there ever was, and his love of life and fun personality will be missed by everyone. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Interim Healthcare and Serenity Palliative and Hospice Care for their loving care given to James over the past 21 years. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday April 5, 2011, at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Wednesday April 6, 2011 at Neely's Creek ARP Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jan Senneker. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park on South Cherry Road.
