James Frankin Bennett (Jim) of Tega Cay, SC passed away on December 17, 2014 at CMC Pineville, on the 37th wedding anniversary to his wife. He was born September 2, 1939, in Charlotte to the late, Jesse Edgar Bennet and Mildred Hamrick Bennett. He graduate from Central High School in 1957, attending NC State College, served in the Air Force, and was an instructor in aeronautics at UNCC. Upon joining Atlantic Richfield Oil Company he worked his way up through the ranks and became a Captain flying the company top management all over the globe. He flew six presidents and many movie stars. He lived in California a number of years and upon retirement chose to return to the south, moving to Tega Cay, SC. He was an active member of the Fort Mill Baptist Church. Jim was an avid golfer at Tega Cay and will be missed by his golfing buddies. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Carolyn Bennett, and his sister Carole B. Kinzie of Fort Mill, SC, his children, son Scott Bennett (Stacey), Beth Israel (Richard), and son Christopher were the loves of his life. He has four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Service will be Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 2 pm at Fort Mill First Baptist Church; the family will receive friends from 1 pm until service time. Burial will follow Monday at 2pm December 22, 2014 at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte. In lieu of flowers the family suggests any memorials or contributions be made to Shriners Crippled Children.
