James Craig Brandon

March 28, 1937 — February 23, 2021

James Craig Brandon, 83, of Rock Hill, passed away, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill SC.

A private chapel service in celebration of Jim’s life will be at 2:00p.m., Saturday February 27, 2021 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home Chapel, Rock Hill SC.

Jim was born March 28, 1937 in York County to the late Robert Baxter Brandon and Myrtle Robinson Brandon.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Eugene Brandon.

Jim was a graduate of York High School and College of Commerce.  He also served four years in the US Air Force in Bangor, Maine and Madrid, Spain.

Jim was an Information Technology Manager with Collins & Aikman Corp., Belk Store Services, and IBM in Charlotte, NC.  He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Rock Hill and in his community.  He loved traveling, spending time with family and friends along with watching & enjoying sports.

He is survived by his wife Delores Brandon; his son Todd Brandon and wife Jamie of Albemarle, NC; his son Chad Brandon and wife Krista of Suwanee, GA; four grandchildren Kirsten Brandon of Concord, NC; Dalton Brandon and his wife Sydney of Wendell, NC; Ansley Brandon and Tyler Brandon of Suwanee, GA; and one great grandchild Lonnie Jo Brandon of Wendell, NC. and  three sisters Nancy Farris (John), Mary Ellen Puckett (Joe), and Diane Patterson (Roy) of York, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church 481 Hood Center Road Rock Hill SC 29730 or

Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House 2275 India Hook Road Rock Hill SC 29732.
