INDIAN LAND - Mr. James "Jamie" David Broome, 49, formerly of Indian Land, currently Clover, died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center Main in Charlotte, NC. Visitation will be held 10:00am on July 2, 2014 at Independent Bible Baptist Church, 17025 Lancaster Hwy, Charlotte, NC with Celebration of Life service and graveside service following at 11:00 AM at same location. Born on August 16, 1964, in Fort Mill, SC, his family moved to Indian Land, SC in 1973 where he spent most of the rest of his life. Jamie was the son of the late Bobby Ray and Gloria Adkins Broome. He was the youngest of five children and was known to them as the classic little brother. To others he was known as "Preacher". Jamie spent his life working very hard always to help others whether it was his family, friends, or just someone that needed help. He loved racing and spent a lot of his time with the #53 and 55 cars of Warrior Racing Team. But more than working or racing, Jamie loved his family dearly and spent his time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a Christian man that loved God and his church. He is survived by his wife, Robin Broome; daughter Rachel Broome, step- daughter Cristal Hickman, step-son Dwayne Mullis and his wife Casey; 3 grandchildren Jayden Lewis, Mason Mullis, Camden Mullis; brothers Bobby Ray Broome Jr and his wife, Jesus Broome, Len Broome and his wife, Kathy Burris Broome, Tony Broome and his wife, Marie Laney Broome; sister Melissa Broome Henke and husband Dennis Henke; and nieces and nephews - Chrystal, Nelson, Daisy, Jeremy, Anna, Kevin, Logan, Carson, Stacey, Joey, Kaylie, Reese, Michael, Leigh, Caleb, Laney, Dusty, Theresa, Matt, Craig, and Robert - that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Gloria Broome and first wife Denise Mullis Broome. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Independent Bible Baptist Church at 17025 Lancaster Hwy, Charlotte NC. Palmetto Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family sincerely thanks all of the staff in the Trauma Unit at CMC Main, Medic, and the countless friends and family that have spent their time in prayer over the last two weeks.
