James Wendell Burris

Rock Hill, - Mr. James Wendell Burris, 49, died Thursday, November 11, 2021, at his home.

A memorial service will be 3:00 pm Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Whitesell Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeffery McWatters officiating.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Burris was a son of Barbara Jean Archie and the late Earnest Wendell Burris. He will be remembered as a sweet, gentle soul who loved his daughter, his siblings, and his mother.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, and he enjoyed the fact that he was able to watch the Atlanta Braves win the World Series this year.  He loved fishing, gardening with his daughter, and watching NASCAR.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his stepson, Tyler Myer; a stepdaughter, Ivy Myer; two sisters, Wendy Burris (William Baron) and Angela Burris (Drew “Andy” Freeman); two half-brothers, Bruce Jenkins (Kim) and Rick Burris.  He was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Raina Burris.
